Structure of stamen and microsporangium
Stamen is a individual unit of the Androecium
Stamen contains two parts
One is terminal Bilobed dithecous anther
And Second is stalk of the stamen called Filament
Each lobe contains two microsporangium
In transverse section of young anther microsporangium is circular Structure
The microsporangium is surrounded by four wall layers
The outermost layer epidermis and inner to this is endothecium and third layer is middle layer
The main function of these three layers is protection and also they helps in dehiscence of anther
The inner most layer of the microsporangium is tapetum
Tapetum is nutritive layer and the cell contains dense cytoplasm and more than one nucleus
The inner to tapetum layer a group of compactly arranged homogeneous cells called Sporogenous tissue
